Projekt für die Erhaltung und archäologische Deutung der Tempel von Hagar Qim und Mnajdra auf Malta, Weltkulturerbe
Die zwei Spann-Membranstrukturen für die beiden über 3000 Jahre alten und zum Unesco Weltkulturerbe gehörigen Tempel Hagar Quim und Mnajdra an der Südküste von Malta sollen deren Zerfall verhindern, ohne deren astronomische Sichtachsen und kurvenförmige Geometrie zu stören. Die Schutzbauten sind ergänzt durch ein Besucherzentrum mit Ausstellungsraum und Auditorium, sowie eine Cafeteria. Planung und Bau mussten die hohen Anforderungen an den Schutz der archäologischen Stätten und des Naturschutzgebietes zu erfüllen.

The two high point arch
tensile structures at the south coast of Malta shelter the more than 3000 years
old Unesco World Heritage Sites of the megalith temples Hagar Qim and Mnajdra
in order to protect them from further decay. The geometry had to respect the
astronomical view axes and the curvilinear alignments. Beside the two shelters
the site encompasses a visitor centre with auditorium and exhibition spaces, as
well as a cafeteria. The planning and construction process had to respect
severe requirements with regard to the protection of the archaeological site
